They claim that it rides pretty cool. I'm looking forward to trying it as well. Of course there is also this one:

Then I'm safe!

No, no pink helmet. White or Black (preferably white).

I'm thinking along these lines. Traditional. Kask or Giro, as well.

The Prevail is what I had on when I crashed, as it's our team helmet and we got them in green. I must say, it worked.

My team uses Kask, but they're optional (thank heavens!).

I used a Cateye Whisper in the crit.

Best warm weather helmet I've used.

YIKES!

AJ, I've said it before - if I saw you coming up behind me, I wouldn't be able to get out of your way fast enough!

Cool helmet - looks like it could be used as a ski helmet, too.

Ex's helmet make it much easier to pick him out in the pack. That is when he's in the middle instead of the front.

AJ, I was pretty interested in getting one of those helmets after I broke my orbital in 2011. There's at least 2 MPH of worth of opponent intimidation in that photo.

I try to a few times each week unless I'm on recovery. Somedays I do it while still fresh and other days at the end of my workout. I've recently been accused of it while walking into church.

Lately town line signs brings it out on a regular basis.

I discovered through the USAC site that there is a crit at the airport where I work next Sunday. That would be PERFECT for me, and a good way to test the legs and fitness after the road race I'm doing Saturday. The only thing is, when I tried to sign up for it, USAC tried to tack a $10 one day collegiate license to the entry, saying it was required. Ummm...that brings to mind a couple of questions. First, does that mean it's a college only event? (It's the UC Santa Cruz Slug Fest crit, 02/24/13). Why do I have to buy a collegiate licesne when I'm not a student and am not racing for any collegiate points? Isn't the USAC license enough? Also, wouldn't I be dumb to enter a crit with a bunch of college kids???

Well, they don't have any Masters classes, but they do have all the senior categories listed along with the collegiate categories. Registration only shows 2 people signed up, so it must be mostly a day-of thing.

Took a look at the flier. The only race you can enter is the Women's 1,2,3,4. The rest of the races are collegiate only. You have to be a student and be "eligible" to be on the team. Not sure if you want of need another 1,2,3,4 experience.

Women's Open is Women's Open. You are a Cat4 Women racer, so your USAC license should suffice. There is no such thing as a USAC Collegiate license as far as I know.

The USAC registration page automatically adds the "collegiate license" to ALL of the entries. I emailed the promoter about it and hopefully I'll hear back. Yes, I know I'll probably get shelled by the 123's, but it's a race, it's a rep, and I need them! BTW, the extended weather forecast for next weekend is looking grim. I don't want to ride a RR in the rain!

Helmets - perusing eBay I found this. The Chinese are even copying the Catlike Whsiper!

This race may actually have some other cat 4 women in it versus entering a Masters 35+ Cat 1,2,3 race where cat 4s are not supposed to enter.
