Do they still make you show up and pay an entry fee? Or, do you just e-mail in an SRM power file and use the "race for free via the interwebz" feature?

I have to chuckle. I'm sure some of those guys are saying "Racer Ex? Why is he ranked in front of me?"

That would be especially funny and especially disconcerting for that list a$$-kickers (my a$$ that is) if you really showed up on the USAC web site as Racer Ex.

Even at this distance I have heard of Thurlow Rogers. You gonna beat him?

And, of course, I don't understand the USAC ratings system. How is "predicted race quality" worked out?

I finished ahead of him a few times. "Beat" is a different story.

And no one understands the USAC rating/ranking system. It's like string theory.

If you race a lot in stacked fields and get top 5's you will rank highly. This year I've done the first two but not the last, thus my ranking blows.

Each of you has a teammate on the list. Should be fun. Best of luck.

USAC is missing a great opportunity. They could be Vegas.

The ranking system here is pretty useless, too. One of the girls on our team currently ranks ninth nationally. But she races once or twice a week in local races here, where she is easily the strongest in her age group. As a result she picks up ranking points with monotonous regularity. By contrast, in the North West of the country there are at least a half-dozen girls who can eat her for breakfast. But because they are frequently racing against each other, none of them win regularly and they are all behind her in the rankings.

Possibly a rider gets extra points for buying their liscene early and using the USAC website for pre Regristration of races. At least that's how it must work for me to be ranked as I do.

I'm not be facetious when I say I wish this race was televised. I'd love to see it. Good luck out there, Ex. I know you'll do well.

You're so badass, we decided to rename our team after you:

It's too bad we got the spelling wrong; too late to change it once the kit arrived.

Pity about the spelling. Can I get an honorary membership?

Sure thing. Sadly, about all an honorary membership gets you is the ability to buy a (misspelled) t-shirt:

How did the race predictor do?

Say what you want about racing in any other state, Cali fields are pretty damn stout.

Pretty good. Not in my general direction (posted what happened around here somewhere) but they picked the winner (the ranking changed after a couple of guys entered and knocked me down a few).

I checked the road-results.com predictor for a few things and it's seemingly no less confusing.
