gary fisher tassajara disc for beginer
As stated i have a 05 gary fisher tassajara disc. i would like to start xc racing. would this bike be ok far myself( a beginer, racer)? What else is good to know about getting into racing?

I've used an older model Tassajara (w/o disc) for adventure races and xc mtb races up until this year when I switched to FS. It is a great bike but I don't have any great advice for you. My bike was pretty much factory the whole time and it is in the process of being turned into a single speed so clean it properly and let her rip.

what sort of advice do you want? get used to changing tubes while out on a trail because if you pop a tire then you are screwed. carry a little pack under the seat with a multitool, tube, patch kit (sometimes you just get unlucky) tire levers if you need em for your tires, zip ties (these always come in handy) and have a pump on your bike or in a bag. as far as racing, i have no idea. your bike should be more than enough bike for the beginner class.

Is racing in the beginer class going to take more endurance/conditioning or skill. I assume that the beginer's courses are some what simple. so which do you think itis?

Usually the biginner class, or novice, the length of the race is shorter, here at least it is.
The races I've done were one lap for Novice, two for intermediate and four for elite or enduro.
Each lap was 10k with a 1 to 1.5k prologue.
Expect to have fun and or suffer a bit, try and race your own pace without going too fast or slow, but when you're done, there should be nothing left in the bank, blow every last calorie you have, even if it's just taken up sprinting the last km or 100metres.
