Fuji Outland RC vs Salsa El Santo Vs. Santa Cruz Blur
My previous bike was a Specialized Epic '03 Disc.
Which would be a good replacement Frame for racing? Fuji ? http://fujibikes.com/2006/bikes.asp?id=152 Salsa ? http://www.salsacycles.com/frames_06ElSanto.html Santa Cruz Blur XC? http://www.santacruzbicycles.com/blurxc/ Gracias! |
The Fuj is looks like a true Horst four-bar; the Salsa is a "faux-bar" - - I don't think you'd be happy with that, coming from true 4-bar; but, in my mind, it'd be hard to go wrong with a Blur. But let's LowCel weigh in on this one, as he's had more experience with SCs.

I don't know much about the Fuji but I do have a buddy that bought the Salsa and sold it after one ride around the parking lot. His biggest complaint was the top tube had very little to no slant. He bought the bike that Salsa told him would fit properly based on top tube length. Once he received it and built it up he didn't have any standover height. That was a problem. After he sold it he decided to order a SC Blur XC. However after having constant problems with ordering from Santa Cruz he decided to go with an Ellsworth.
Now, from everything I have heard the blur xc is an incredible bike. It is much nicer than the original blur for xc riding and racing. A couple of my other friends ride them and they seem to be very impressed with them. The bike is pretty light and very efficient. They both use the blur xc for racing but they also do a good bit of all mountain type riding as well. If you can find someplace that has the blur xc in stock then go for it. Good luck if the shop has to order it though. |
