Race Venue Question
Has anyone ridden the Infineon Cougar Mountain Classic? I'm thinking about riding my first race (XC) there this summer and wondered if anyone else had opinions on the course, the venue, the event as a whole. Specifically, what was the XC course like? Technical/smooth? Climbing/flats?

The course isn't technical. It is primarily on single track and fire roads with an equal amount of climbing and descent. It is by no means flat, but a very "do-able" course. The start in particular is an immediate climb.
The good thing is that you can preride on Friday as much as you like so you have a good idea of what you are getting into and where your efforts should be. Also, the 4x course is going to be opened up for free for all to ride so you can get a chance to try an additional event without the cost and stress of a race. Big Trips for Kids Bike Swap too.
