Yea he took 10th that week it looks like, thats very fast considering Seth Whealing was there (XTERRA US + UK National champ, Finished '06 ranked #1) and he took 12th. This week is the Final race I will try to take some more shots as the course will be different.

Me in my second club race. I took 32secs of my best time to come 4th in under 19s, and 5th overall.

Frunkin 08-29-07 01:10 PM

Here I am.
Race went crappy, about 15 miles in I had my first crash of the day, and my rear deraileur wrapped around my cassette backwards. I have no Idea how, but that ended my race.

Little Leo 08-29-07 07:57 PM

so how rough was that race? I was told people still cant walk from it.

Frunkin 08-29-07 10:44 PM

It was pretty crazy. It was like 75% really bumpy singletrack. There were like 3 miles of fire roads at the beginning of each lap, then it was pure singletrack. Not good for me because I dont have the best technical skills. Lots of steep sandy climbs too. On the WORS forum there is an elevation map, and its nuts.

Little Leo 08-30-07 07:59 PM

oooh I have to go next year. im the opposit as you, im the best in single track but blow big time in the double. people pass me like im not even moving!

sounded fun though

First annual Super D race on Moose Mountain took place this weekend. Despite getting two flats at the same time right at the top of the pre-ride (and not being able to ride it before the race), I managed to take third place in my class.

Thanks guys...I can't complain about the result considering I didn't feel I rode very well.

I got the flats over a wider section covered with loose, sharp rock (imagine a cheese grater if you bailed)...and it's very fast, probably 60km/h+. And it wasn't only two flats...another guy I ride with was right behind me...he's about the same height/weight and was also riding a 6" bike...we BOTH got double flats in the same spot! It was a little scary trying to stop from that speed with the flats!

Super-D yesterday at Mt. Spokane. What a fun way to end the season. Nothing super-technical on this trail - - just a nice, flowy bunch of singletrack that went (mostly) down. About three short climbs to keep us heavy-bike guys honest and test our legs and lungs.

I managed first in the 50+ Expert and my friends Arnold Mukai and Terry Dickey took second and third. Good times!

The whole course was silty powder - -good thing we had 1:00 intervals for the start.

Me and my trusty Gran Mal in the background . . . dunno why I had that sour expression; I was havin' fun all day!

Podium: Arnold, me and Terry. The old farts rule!

Ahh, the old "go out hard and blow-up" routine. I've done that too many times. It's a fine line of going out fast but not too fast. I've found if I'm a couple behind the lead, it puts me in a good position to keep up without blowing up.

Here's one of me a couple of weeks ago during a muddy mess of a race:

I swear most categories start at the exact same speed. I'm pretty sure my first few minutes were almost as fast when I was a sport as they are now as a semi. The only difference is now all my competition just doesn't slow down :(

Ouch! That'll do it too!:D

My race last weekend, there was an accident at the start. I heard tires rubbing looked over and a guy went down. I guess he sprained his wrist so he didn't get up and go. At least you finished!:)
