SPECIAL ALERT: This event is held in close proximity to the NEW Zoo. The NEW Zoo policy of NO DOGS ALLOWED will be enforced for this event. Please pass the word to all spectators and racers with dogs.

The Reforestation Ramble course is set at11.5 miles of fun and excitement. Racer will travel through several distinct communities in the camp, experiencing double track cross country ski roads, slow rolling hills, and winding flowing single track with some sand. Race Director, Ben Griggs reports, “We have also designed a course that will be run without lap manipulation, making each lap identical. Concerns about clogging up in singletrack, along with the environmental issues, are what lead us to this 11.5 mile lap consisting of 8.5 miles of double track cross country roads, 2.5 miles of singletrack and about .5 miles black top/gravel road. The entrance to the first section of singletrack will be around mile 5, allowing for plenty of mileage to separate the masses.” Some black top has been thrown in as a spectator incentive. The race will actually roll right through the parking lot, to allow for ease in bottle hand offs, food delivery, as well as promote the festival type atmosphere. More importantly the route through the parking lot will enable great ON SITE camping for the racers. YES! That’s right, there will be camping on site. The logistics of the camping are actually quite attractive and will make this event very fun. ALL campers must be aware that you will NOT be able to move during the race, unless there is an emergency. Camping will be in an area that will be closed off due to the race course. Please be cognizance of this issue going into the race weekend. We will close movement in this area, vehicle wise, from Sunday morning at 8AM until EVERY RACER has crossed the finish line. This should not cause problems, as all racers are on the course at the same time. SO… come on out on Saturday for all the fun.

Saturday will be filled with all sorts of fun, including a learn to race clinic, vendors galore, preriding, a movie at dusk, acoustic music, volleyball, fire pit, and a super fun singletrack time trial. Sign up for the time trial will take place between 4 and 7, with the race taking place after, at 7:15/7:30. Please sign up early, so there is plenty of time to seed riders, as we will take off in minute intervals. Also, take heed of our sponsors, as there will be some sort of fun sponsor contest taking place that will culminate in a pretty sweet prize. Look for details in your racers bag. Along with the contest, there will be PLENTY of schwagg, thanks to our local bike shops! Most of them will be on site, as well, to offer guidance, minimal screw turning, product, and most importantly, camaraderie. Please take note of the coupons in your racers bag for dinner ideas in the local community, and be on the lookout for a spaghetti feed at one of the local eateries.

Sunday is shaping up to be filled with all sorts of fun as well, with sports therapists coming from Besiada Health Innovators to assist with any injuries, therapy, and pre race preparation, such as stretching. The sports therapists will be there early on Sunday to allow for plenty of pre race prep for both the runners and the bikers. The races will culminate with awards, the drawing for the winner of the sponsor contest, and lots of schwagg giveaways.

I was out there today with people from Stadium Bike, Team 2, Bellin and other I cant remember. I think this will be the biggest WORS race other then the Subaru Cup. The corse is very dri with only some soft spots. Unless it rains from now to race day it will be sandy. The wether is calling for rain but the area sheds water very well. Its ganna be a lot of fun.

There is tons of things before and after the race. Pluse you can walk over to the Zoo is you whant. I have no idea where 2000+ people are going to park. The parking lot is part of the race corse. So anybody going should plan for some problems. And unlike most WORS races the elite and Comp go before Citizen and Sport. Every one will be there all at once.

The corse has been extended from 8 miles to 11.8 miles, that’s 1 lap. It is a brutal corse, brand new trails. It would be nice if you had a fully.

All riders over 16 will have to buy a trail pass, $5, just like 9mile

you didnt miss much. It was hot, dry, sandy, %80 double track and %60 of that was horse trail. And did I say sandy?

personaly i did my best. I and another guy(who took second in frount of me last race) where next to each other the whole 1st lap and half the second. Then I cramped and was done. Rider after rider started passing me. We had 1st and 2nd with about 20min left but I just could go anywhere with cramps like that. I had expected I would. I need to work on my long hard riding.

A kid about 5min behind me crashed into a tree and broke his colar bone. The worst part was that other riders just passed him while he was laying on the ground. My dad helped him to a water station. My dad was so mad that nobody helped the poor kid out, so there probly be some talk about helping more people out when the crash and burn like that.
