I personaly would like to try gripshifts

Gripshifts are lighter, but you have to like how they feel. They are a lot cheaper as well...

I run them on my ST bike and like them. They suck in mud though (get all slippery).

Little Leo, I have grip shifts. There is a great reason they have a nickname of "Grip S***". They suck big time. I have tough hides as hand, trying to grip those things all the time. I would buy Rapidfire shifters, but I am about to get a single speed steup going. I have no idea what Zecanon has with gripshifts, but they are the bigggest pita. And weight, I personally think it is better to have that extra 1/4 pound rather than stop and pull back on them as hard as you can. I have an uncle that had rapidfire and I loved his bike because of them. Just a suggestion.

Try changing your cables and housing once a millenia. They are just as easy to shift as triggers. If they aren't, it's something wrong with YOU and/or YOUR BIKE, not the shifter.

Good Gripshifts...like X.0's are really nice. You can burn through a bunch of gears with one twist and they are very positive in terms of gear selection. Cheap ones suck, but spend the $$$ and you'll be happy. They're also cheaper than triggers, so spending the money for the best isn't ridiculous.

gripshift. i wish i would have gotten gripshift when i put x9 on my bike. the shifting w/ the gripshift is really good.

I used to run X.9 gripshifters and Rear Der. prior to picking up my Scalpel which came with XTR. I don't think there is anything out there that out performs the X.9 gripshift period, much less when you factor in cost. They work well all the time. For my money I'd probably go with X.0 gripshifters (lighter but not much more $$) with a X.9 rear Der. next time.
