You guys are nuts!

I'm just watching the Avalanche Trophy on Universal Sports.
The bike handling skills of MTB riders are intriguing to say the least.
I think I'm going to stick to road and cross.

It's all about keeping ones sac off of the saddle.

I found that out really quick.

Mountain bike racing looks like a lot of fun. Seems like it provides a different kind of challenge than road racing, requiring good control on a loose, chaotic and constantly changing surface. I've never done any kind of bicycle racing, so this is just a statement to the best of my imagination, but mtb racing looks like it may be more fun and road racing.

What's nuts about it? Hare scrambles meets downhill . . . I'd say it's about the most perfect DH competition there could be.

Mountain Biking is a gas. Since you provide all momentum by working hard (anaerobically), we only hit the brakes if we have to............. period.

There are a couple of trails that I ride that I almost scream yippee!!!! I love the thrill of using balance, skill and a bit of luck to try to improve on my times. On one small section of trail, my friend who taught me to mountain bike said he almost crashed 5 times. I had the same experience, there were 5 different times I wasn't sure if we were going to make the corner. When riding singletrack at speed, they plant trees in the damndest places. Since I am the oldest and slowest of my bunch, I supplant my riding with skill and balls............ What a blast.
