just starting out need help picking up a bike

i live in florida and i am geting into mountain bikeing i need some help picking out a bike that is not too expensive.
know any good places to buy a mountain bike. online or in a local shop in south florida.

Avoid buying a bike online as there is NO way for you to test ride it. If we had an idea what PART of Florida we'd be better able to assist you in finding a shop

Are you planning on doing lots of trail riding, city, or a combination of both? How big are you (height/weight)? Personally I think it's wise to find a bunch of bikes that are suitable for a rider of your size and then test ride as many as you can. Plus, if you go to local bike shops watch for last years' models. You can save big on them. I saved 25% on mine. Mark

i have just ordered a trek 4500 2005 mountain bike my freinds from bikes to go in miami on suset and us 1 told me that was a good entry level bike for jumps and for some trail riding.i tested the 4500 trek and it was nice , i liked it . i will let you know more when i recieve it.if you need the number for bikes to go just let me know.

i bought a 16 inch trek 4500 it fits me good that bike is comfortable for me.
