Well Hi all, I am new to your site and it looks like a good one! I live in Canada (dont like to give alot of info on the web) and ride a 04 Kona scrap which is bone stock except for a nice chain guard i made for it out of a cloth and some hockey tape. I do like the bike, and have had no trouble with it except a few broken spokes (stick caught up)

I have some extra money, and although I enjoy dirt biking alot, biking is my main hobie. I look forward to it when I come home (from highschool), and am always trying new things. If you ask me to wheely, my answer is "How far?" because it is almost second nature for me to do them on a bike, whether I am going up hill, down, and I can even turn corners as long as i am touchy with my back break.

So I have been considering a new bike, and am thinking of sticking hardtail. I am very interested in the Norco Manik, which I saw for the first time at a bike shop a week ago and loved it. My question to you folks is how does the Norco Manik(2005) compare to an 04 Kona scrap? Quality? Ridability? Forks? Brakes? I have been doing alot of research on it, and know pritty much everything about the bike, but was wondering how you guys felt about the two? Well Thanks in advance and you can be sure I will be posting here alot. And hey nice rides everyone! I took at the "Post Your Rigs" thread.

If you like what you are riding now the best thing would be to put your money into upgrading it. Get some new hoops, drivetran and brakes or perhaps a new fork. The Scrap is a good frame so why get a new one? I say stick with Kona.

I agree I like the frame too, but from what I can tell the components on the norco are top notch. It would basically cost the same for me to make my scrap like the manik (brakes forks drivertrain).
But thanks for the oppinions anyone else have experience with both of these bikes, or the Manik?
