Girvin Inter Damp rear shock
In the early to mid 90's I gave my nephew a Girvin mountain bike with front and rear suspension. It got tucked away in a shed and never ridden. Just got it back.
The rear suspension had a damper with what appears to have been a urethane elastomeric cylinder. It is gone. Would spares be available? If not we can probably 3D print something but would have to guess at how hard to make it.

This company should be able to fix you up::
https://www.suspensionforkparts.net/eshop/proflex.html
They have 5 pages of them, forks and rears, so you should be able to spot the right one. if you aren't sure, contact them.

OK, a few other solutions. BTW I found out the bike is a 1992. Kind of bizarre in that it has a rear suspension but solid front forks.
One could, of course, spend $53 for the replacements referenced above.
I measured the area and it appears the elastomer was 1.5" in diameter with a center hole of 1/2" and 2" high. I ordered a 1.25" OD Shore 40 Urethane tube from McMaster Carr. 6" (enough for three) for $18.50.
Then I found the 2nd best idea of all: wrap the shaft with an old inner tube, zip tied together.
And the winner: cut a bunch of 1.5" diameter discs out of an old tube and stack them together.
