Got a BH bike for €150, worth keeping/upgrading?

Got a BH bike for €150, worth keeping/upgrading?
Hey, as the title suggests, I got a BH bike for €150 euro (Picture) and I was wondering if it's worth upgrading at all or should I just sell it and buy a new one. It's not brand new, there's a small dent in the frame and some scratches that don't really bother me since it's a MTB.
Also some cables need to be replaced as they're interfering with correct rear gear shifting and I had a fall that somehow ended up breaking both "rear shifter ajuster bolts(?)" as you can see here. How would I go about fixing this?
I'm a beginner that just started trail-riding etc so I don't really want to spent a whole lot for now.
From what I can tell, Brakes, Derailleurs and Shifters are Shimano Diore, was thinking on getting a BL-M506 Disc Brake Set and a "couple" more upgrades (around €200-€300 budget for upgrades atm) but as I said, not sure if there's anything worth keeping.

That's a bit of a strange bike, the frame is a dated design, very similar to what you see on BSO's but there are some good parts on it, from the photo, the forks and brakes.
Woudn't look at putting too much into it, you mention brakes, you would also need new wheels, and with the other part mentioned, you would be better looking for a more modern bike, with these parts already spec'd, and breaking and selling the good parts from the BH.
As you are listing your prices in Euros, but don't give a location, would look at Decathlon, and a bike from the Rockrider range (plenty of options) as these are available through out Europe to compare to what you can get with your given budget.
For the 'shifter bolts', these should be easy to source via a good LBS, either they may have them in a spares box, of get the part number from SHIMANO Dealer's Manual / User's Manual you will need to find the model, then the Y number, getting the old plastic out will be difficult, but possible.

I could try fixing up what I can on the BH and sell it whole, not easy to sell parts where I live, and use that money plus some to buy a new bike.
I ended up checking Decathlon and being perfectly honest, I fell in love with the Rockrider 540 (Not willing to spend more than that for now). Would the benefits from getting a RR 520 / 540 be that noticeable and worthy of switching to a Hardtail?
