Shipping a frame to Canada...

So, on ebay there is a brand new GT backwoods frame i was looking at bidding on, its in the US (im in canada) and the guy says there is a $10usd shipping/handling charge anywhere in the states.. i email the guy and ask him what shipping to canada would be, and he says $60usd! 60usd is OUTRAGEOUS!

just wondering if there are any canadians out there that have had frames shipped from the U.S and how much shipping you are usually charged...

On a side note, a friend of mine got a set (4) of mercedes rims for his benz on ebay, and shipping to canada was only 65usd, and he received them in less than a week..

I got a frame shiped from AZ and it was 30 USD. No duty cause the company (soul cycles) sent it as a warrenty for a cracked head tube to save me the money. Awesome company

$60 isn't totally out of line dude. What kind of cash are you spending on a frame? I know City Park Cycle in Saskatoon had a Jamis Komodo frame with cranke, for like $350 a while back, super killer deal, if I hadn't just bought my bike i would have bought it and built it up.

are you kidding? thats insane! shipping for a 4-5lb frame almost costing just as much as shipping for 100lbs worth of rims? i dont see how the shipping cost magically jumps 50 dollars just because its going to canada, pure ripoff.. i could see if i was up in some remote community in Nunavut that is only accessable by plane....... but i dont...

at the moment the frame is only at a buck, and i dont plan on spending anymore than 100-150 bones on a frame...

those guys at city park are pretty nice
