DUDE! I say total go for it. I looked at that thing before I built up my Surly and it's an AWESOME bike. It was, at the time, just too much bike for me. Its really an awesome bike and that set-up sounds good. You get it for $800, then you got a good deal.

I hate you, I am so jealous. I would so do that in a heartbeat, that's a dang good price considering that frame retails new at about $700

Thats a crappy spec list for sucha burly freeride frame. Its a good deal though, cosidering you practically get wheels bars stem brakes free.

I would agree with you monkey, but he is probably buying local so that weighs on the decision a little more. I would be more apt to buy a awesome bike with crappy componets than spend more money on a bike from someone I didn't know.
I wonder why that guy put those componets on that kind of bike?

Yeah but he can spend the saved money on stuff he picks out and still have back ups, or he can just ride the crap out of it until everything crappy breaks off, and then replace as needed. Either way, I like the idea of throwing in an extra hundred from the frame to get a complete bike.

oh yeah no doubt its a good deal ,but not nessesarily the best you can get.if you gonna get it shipped anyways you might as well buy the one on ebay .
btw . its still used ,why do you all count it as it is worth like a brand new frame?i am not getting that equation.

because a new frame is easy to base things off of. It didn't look horribly mangled so it can't be in that bad of shape so theoretically it should have held some value. I would definitely look at it before I bought it though, because yes it is used. And the price new, tells me a bit about the quality of the frame.

it doesn't matter ,he could have never riden that frame ,its still used and worth less than a new one .but you are right ,i wouldn't be too concerned with that kind of frame .
i want one

I think all the componets would disentigrate before that frame become mangled in anyway, shape or form.
