What does KHS stand for

Cooldude,
No it is Taiwanese. The tubes for the KHS frames are manufactured in America. Most of it is Tru-Temper they have used OX II, OX III, OX GOLD, and will probably use OX PLATINUM, eventually. They have also used Reynolds tubing. Their low end or entry level bikes have used straight gauge Tru-Temper as well. I have a KHS Team in OXIII myself. Frame weight is 4.2 pds. I also have a Breezer JetStream. the KHS is far more stable though the Breezer is far more comfortable.

Cooldude,
It was! They moved the company assembly to Taiwan for cost. The tubes are manufactured in America cut, mitred, speced, then sent to Taiwan for assembly. I would not be bummed out! They make a superb product! After all what stuff that you get is not made somewhere else? There is not a whole lot of cycling stuff that is made in america anymore. The majority is made either in Canada, or overseas. Thank NAFTA, and the WTO for this!

hey

yea Hunter the stuff is good, i mean most bikes off the shelfs are made in Taiwan and stuff even though they started elsewhere even top of the line stuff.
I remember a guy talking at a bike shop once he goes yeah that Avanti it had a SID fork and a nice assortment of XTR and XT and he said if the Taiwanese can turn out a bike like that it must be alright!

My next bike i'm gonna try and get a Craftworks, Australian owned (i'm an Aussie) but yeh made in Taiwan.
