Rockshox Reba RL dirt + oil lik

Hi, I own a 2013 Rockshox Reba RLT fork, today after going to a ride it ended up with dirt + oil on the upper tubes, the left tube has a little mark of coating gone (you can see on the pictures). This fork has like 3700 miles, and like 1200 miles ago I made a maintenance where the dust seals, foam rings, oil seals and oil was change. Is this normal? or I need to worry about it. Here are some pics that I took today.

Thanks

Its hard to tell for sure from the pictures but it looks like the stanchion has an area right above the seal that is badly abraded... if so, the stanchion is junk.

My guess is dirt got under or behind the seal. Did you rebuild this fork? Or did someone else?

The fork was rebuild on my local bike store. Yes like you said there is a part where the coating is gone on the left stanchion. You think a dust seal change will help? Or is better if I start thinking on a new fork

I don't think new seals will work on the damaged stanchion. Dirt will get in the fork in no time.

I would take the fork back to the shop- IMHO, they messed up by not keeping things clean during the rebuild, or they failed to install the seal correctly. If they are reputable they will fix this.

There is no need to buy a new fork, all you will need is a replacement CSU (crown/steerer/upper) unit and a set of seals.
