I am not expert in tires, but I know that it depends on how you use it and how you want it to be.
If you are a heavy duty user, and if you want performance, the tires will not last long but will give you lot's of fun.
If you want them to last long, they probably won't give you the performance.

Hi Red Dragon,
I have been riding for 3 years now, and that has given me a chance to try out quite a few tires. Personally, I would go for more of a name brand tire: you may pay a little more, but you will get a better quality tire, and a better ride.
Here is a list of tires that i have tries out myself and that I have really enjoyed:
1) Maxxis Mofo XC
2) Bontrager Jones
And, although i have not ridden them, (they are a fair amount more $$ than the other 2), I have hread amazing things about this beauty:
3) Hutchinson Mosquito Air Lt.
Have a good one

Tires with colores tread surface has a tendency to have a softer durometer than the standard black. Depending on the terrain you are riding in the Hutchinson and the Panaracer wre good treads. However from a durability standpoint and overall great tread, WTB Velociraptors, IRC Mythos, and Specialized Ground Master, and Team Control are super.
