HOLY CRAP DUDE! $25 bucks? You got a hell of a deal, just make sure theres nothing wrong with the frame. It's a seriously sick frame and can be built up to do pretty much whatever you want it to do. Mines built up for AM and light FR but it could be set up for XC or Urban, your options are pretty UNlimited.

The most I would pay for a Surly frame is $100. So 25 bucks is a heckuva deal. Congrats.

Don't get me wrong. Surly bikes are beasts and excellent for the various punishments of commuting. My money would go elsewhere, that's all.
But heck, for $25, I'd buy three or four.

I thought 4130 cro-moly steel was some of the best steel and some of the strongest you could get? While I agree the welds aren't the prettiest thing and the paint job is less than lackluster but I didn't think Surly was an italian road bike company in the business of making things pretty.
