another dumb question
i just orded some tires and in the tire description it says that they are 60 tpi, what the hell does that mean??? is 60 good or bad?? or should i get a higheer tpi?? help is needed
|
tpi = threads-per-inch. The higher the thread count in a tire's casing, the more resistant it will be to impact damage from rocks and other obstacles.
60 is somewhat low, I think my XC tires are 120 TPI (Michelin something or others?). |
Thanks bike_man_15 for asking the dumb question and thanks Joe for the answer. I didn't know what tpi was either.
bike_man_15, at least you were smart enough to ask the question. |
can i still use them though??\
i dont race or anything i just free ride and even then its not very x-treme |
Sure, there are still a lot of tires with 60 tpi casings.
