Whatever we are discussing now, science always will choose objective vs subjective. I stand by my use of a pump and gauge for my tire pressure.

Your newbie assumptions, claims and unsuccessful attempts at lecturing a much more experienced rider did not make me feel superior to you. That's another absurd assumption of yours.

Quite the contrary, all they did is make me laugh.

At you.

I have two floor pumps: a blackburn airtower that I use for my cx-style commuter, and a lezyne dirt floor drive that I use for my fatbike. The latter has a bigger diameter hose, but has a max of 70psi or so. Either works for a regular mountain bike.

Mtb tire pump

I've been carrying a Blackburn Kamikaze pump in my Hydration pack for years. It just works, is light weight, small, and doesn't rattle. A 2.35 tire will take about 100 pumps to be ready for the rock garden. The Kamikaze has saved me from a shin banging walk dozens of times !
