Best DH rear Shock
Which rear shock (8-10 inches) can best absorbs big hits? Manitou, 5th Element, Romic, Fox, etc...Thanks?

Romics have a semi bad rap for blowing seals. The fox is getting consistently great reviews. And Avy - those who love them love them a lot, those who don't dont at all

you know i dont race but i have the fox DHX and its been really good on everything. big hits and sensitive to small bumps. ive also heard really good things about that avys

depends on the bike, if it's a single pivot you want something that has platform valving, some bikes however don't need a platform and work better with non platform shocks. When a 5th is set up correctly and working, they are brilliant however they are known to be not the most reliable. I think I'll stick to Fox.

Yet to try a DHX, but I love the way my 5th works. Should be getting it back from servicing in the next few days, cant wait to ride it again. Havent had one problem with it other than stripping out a compression screw, they hooked me up though.
