Bike Sales Outfits

This may seem silly, but I am fairly new to the MTB scene.
I am a musician, and I buy a lot of stuff from the "Discount Catalog Companies"
What are some companies that sell gear like this, that you can buy from catalogs, online etc.
Kinda like warehouse retail companies. I have found a company called "performance" but they are not too impressive.
Where I live we only have about 2 bike shops, and some stuff is wildly overpriced.
I am looking for alternatives I guess, besides ebay. Some things I just won't buy off ebay.

And some more that I often use...

Speedgoat.com <- not the cheapest, but great selection of high end stuff

aebike.com <- often the cheapest prices around, prompt & friendly

webcyclery.com <- singlespeed specialists, couple of brands I don't see elsewhere

rei-outlet.com <- often overlooked source of some decent deals, spotty inventory

SierraTradingPost.com <- another great source for clothing, hydration packs, & sometimes equipment

BeyondBikes.com <- shady outfit, lots of reported problems, but the guy is willing to dicker over the phone

BicycleBlowout.com <- web front for LBS in Reno, some current-model fork deals, old high-end bikes

I would have to say AE bike and Cambria bike outfitters are the two best bicycle suppliers ive ordered from.

All good shops mentioned so far. I wouldn't brush off the idea of eBay entirely, though. A lot of the cycling stuff on their is sold by vendors who are very trustworthy, many of which are supplementing their brick and mortar location sales. If you see a seller with thousands of positive reviews, rest assured you'd do just as well with them as you would with the big guys (perhaps better).

Use www.qbike.com to "shop around" and compare prices on a specific item. They'll even bring up eBay listings.

http://unrealcycles.com/ - seems pretty nice, they specialize in freeride hardtails and components and such. Haven't ordered anything from them yet, though.
