Jamis Defcon 3 or Nukeproof 275 Race

I'm trying to decide between these 2 bikes.. Assuming they are the same price, I can get either for roughly $2500 cad .

One of my main questions is regarding the geometry, which I do not fully understand; the Jamis has a steeper head angle, but a lower seat tube angle, and shorter chainstays, putting you more over the rear wheel.. The Nukeproof has a more lax head angle, and steeper seat, and I assume that puts you more over the BB.. This seems to be the trend with Enduro bikes now, the majority following the trend of a slacker more gravity oriented front end.

I know it comes down to how I ride, but I am questioning, is there something in these 2 geometries that is equalizing in a sense, ie: something in the Jamis that compensates for the steeper head angle? I just do not understand well enough how things like the seat angle, bb height and TT length etc, will affect the head angle. I understand the trail on a basic level being the distance from the contact point of the tire to where the head angle would point to on the ground..

Can anyone help in sort of explaining the geometry behind these bikes and helping me to decide if one is actually more gravity oriented than the other, or are they about equal?

Thanks for any input !!

**I didn't really ask about specs since from what I can see I think they are about even - although it would cost me quite a bit to swap that 2x10 drivetrain on the Defcon... I can live with that if it is a better overall bike.. I am mainly looking at geometry.

***Edit: Also found this: https://www.fullspeedahead.com/produc...led-headset-2/
Seems like it would effectively even things out quite a bit if I wanted the Jamis to be more DH oriented..
