ramping tips

I've recently recieved a mild concussion (and alot of bruises an scrapes) because of a ramping accident. The doctor said I can start riding again in a few days, but I think I could seriously improve my technique. Right now I just pop my front wheel in the air at the peak of the ramp while standing up, but I know I can do alot better. Any techniques to insure safety and stability would be greatly appreciated.

LOL @ ramping

Just keep riding them, and practice. No amount of reading material is going to help you ride better.

Will you describe the types of ramps? lol. I'm such a newbie when it comes to biking terms. Anyways, when I was hitting the jump, I was using a ramp I built out of wood left from a hurricane. The ramp itself was decently sturdy though. I got hurt because of my landing.

Homemade huh? Lift up a couple inches before you reach the end of the ramp (standing up of course), then land with both wheels parallel (or back wheel first depending on ramp size). Not very difficult but it might be more of a mental thing for you.

if i wanna go really big i kinda flex my knees at the start, and then unflex them really fast at the top. You get a lot more lift. Don't forget to pull up
