Question about Gravity FSX 2.0 MTB

I am fairly new to bikes and I was looking for something cheap but solid. I purchased this bike from direct bike shop online. I just need it to ride trails around my neighborhood and sometimes parks, usually flat but sometimes hilly.
First I am gonna share my experience:

I read a little about bikes but I wish I did that before purchasing the bike. I kinda went with advice with my co-worker to go for FS MTB, second-hand from previous owner for a cheap bike. But when I went to look on craigslist in my area (I live in SF Bay Area) most seemed to be from Walmart if cheap or if there were good brands at almost same price as new from LBS.

When I got this bike, I took it to LBS to build it for me. Before I did that, I hoped to build it myself since they advertised it 80% prebuilt but they did not give any instructions, which resulted in not being able to figure out how to attach left level to front brake, etc). I purchased accessories (helmet, U-lock and bike stand) from my lbs and REI.

The gears switch quickly and smooth, although they can make some little noise depending on what level I use. The bike rides pretty smoothly but noticed on flat asphalt terrain it is little weird. I don't know how to describe it but I feel suspension is kinda bumpy but I don't have bumpy shakes.

Because of very thick and little room inside the frame, I struggled to install U-lock holder. I found one place but it takes valuable space for my bottle holder. If I try to put it anywhere else it sticks out or touches my components. If anyone has idea where to install it I would appreciate it.
