Do you want fries with that bike?

McDonald's to Sell McKids-Branded Skateboards, Bikes - http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,159799,00.html

How long do you think before some Yoohoo asks, "Does Mc Donald's make a good bike? Should I get one?"

BErad 06-16-05 12:21 PM

Hilarious.

Huffy riders everywhere are salivating.

Tweek 06-16-05 12:26 PM

Oh damn, that's a good laugh, funniest thing I've heard all day.

I've always wanted a McKids bicycle, high quality chinese bikes.

Are they going to put them on the menu? I'd like a medium bike please!!

Ya, and the fry dude will assemble it while he waiting for the fries to finish!!

:p

BErad 06-16-05 02:12 PM

The fry dude can barely take the fries out on time. Could you imagine how quickly that bike would fall apart?!

... and we all thought it couldn't get worse than "Larry in Hardware" assembling your bike. Now we have "Chris on Burger Assembly" now "Chris on Burger/Bike Assembly".

P.S. - I used the name Chris because my cousin Chris used to work at McDonald's in high school on the burger assembly line. He always came home (he was raised by my parents) smelling like French fries. Now I guess he would come home smelling like WD-40 and French fries.

a2psyklnut 06-16-05 02:31 PM

Does this mean they are going to have "ride thru" windows now????

swifferman 06-16-05 02:33 PM

The bikes are sold at Target and Amazon.

Mcdonald's is simply branding the bike e.g. a decal. It's not like your spokes are going to be made out of straws.

What's in the bottom bracket? M&M's for bearings and vanilla soft serve for grease?

Ronald rides an X-Mart suspension bike, of course:
(complete with break-away front wheel)

I love this picture. Thanks for sharing. I set it as the background on my phone. I am going to tell everyone I am trying to be a XC race legend like my hero Ronald McDonald.

madbiker555 06-16-05 04:18 PM

:roflmao:
HILARIOUS! ....I wonder if their bikes will be able to hold up to the fat kids the ride them.

On a singlespeed! With only a driveside crank! And no front brake. Does that thing use a coaster brake? Ronald is hardcore! :D Although just from that picture alone, I'd be worried about getting a McDonald's branded bike. I can see it now. You pull the thing out of the box and wonder what idiot designed a bike without a chainstay.

bruiser2 06-16-05 05:39 PM

The bikes are most likely going to be hunks of crap but atleast they're (announced) intentions are good. Obviously they want to make money and make themselves look good, but the excercise idea isnt bad.

chris_pnoy 06-16-05 06:04 PM

 I find it weird that they keep putting an emphasis on fitness and selll all that...

I know some kids that will buy it just for the novelty of it, but then again, thats bussiness for ya!

the wonginator 06-16-05 06:11 PM

i think i would buy one. just to fill the tubes with rockets and fireworks.

Snuffleupagus 06-16-05 06:16 PM

No amount of exercise can make amends for a super sized double whopper meal with a chocolate milkshake and four extra packets of salt on the fries :p

I'd buy one and drive it over with my Jeep, I mean hell how expensive could they be, I couldn't imagin them being more than $49.99

the wonginator 06-16-05 06:34 PM

lol if that. i wouldn't be surprised if they gave out free bikes with every 10th happy meal

Sadly we all know it won't be long

Come on, Snuff....BK has the Whopper, McD's has Super Size.

KrisPistofferson 06-17-05 08:38 AM

Because it's only a matter of time, I shall go first:
There is nothing wrong with those bikes. Why I used to have a Huffy that I rode across the Sahara desert and I never had 1 problem with it. My kids all have McKids bikes and are very happy, and we plant flower in the frames after they break, so they are educational, as well. You people must be a bunch of elitist rich-boys with your high-dollar $300 bikes. :D

Dirtbike 06-17-05 11:19 AM

These bikes are going to collapse under the fat kids that ride them and then mc donalds will be sued...
