Video Clip of GT IT1 in Action

Morning

I got my hands on a pre-production GT IT1 and spent a couple of days playing around on it. Just before giving it back a friend of mine who's a freelance cameraman/ editor filmed one of my skilled mates shredding the Long Gully trails in Wellington, New Zealand.

We're pretty pleased with how the clip came out => http://www.vorb.org.nz/ftopict-24394.html

As you can see from the clip Long Gully is a pretty cool place to ride.

Cheers

It is in a MPEG4 format - but depending on your media player you might need the Xvid codec to run it - http://www.xvidmovies.com/codec/

Hope this helps.

Oh bugger - have you got Quicktime? That should play the 3GP vid clip - just not at such a high resolution.

Nice vid. Long Gully is a sweet looking place, I have seen many a vids from there.

The bike, it is still a GT (Pacific) or did they contract someone outside of Pacific to design it? How will their rider support be (and not just for their sponsored pros)? Will they make replacement parts?
The bike may be good but with out the rest it would not be worth buying.

When I questioned GT New Zealand they couldn't give me the name of the person/people behind designing it - but from my understanding it is an in-house design from GT.

In regards to production - this bike is going into production in exactly the same way as other high end GT bikes (like the DHi) - it will be fully supported with parts etc. The gearbox itself is a Shimano Nexus hub - which is very easy to source.

I think it's good that a large company like GT have stepped out of the mainstream to produce a bike like this. We know other companies such as Nicolai, and Lahar produce bikes with internal gearboxes - but a major marquee putting their internal gear-box bike into production has to be a good sign.

The Worlds BSX course is sick - I'm keen to make a video clip with a crew going nuts on it some time this year - but as always it comes down to time and money. The Worlds BSX course is designed by the same guy who built Castlerock BSX (also in NZ) - Check out this vid of Castlerock => http://www.vorb.org.nz/ftopicp-251583.html#251583 (It really picks up pace after the first 1 minutes.)

Hey - sorry, I forgot to reply to your post. I have turned it into a Mpeg as quite a few people had problems with AVI/Xvid. Hope it works for you now - http://www.vorb.org.nz/ftopict-24394.html
