What would you consider a "good ride"?

Just curious. What would you consider to be a "That was great. Let's do all 35 miles again" kind of ride? Just wanted to know you're all riding on out there.

The section of the Munda Biddi trail that runs from Jarrahdale to the 3rd hut. Single track, logging roads, climbs, decents, two dams, one you can swim in one you cant and the incredible view from the top of the Darling scarp out over the coastal plain all the way to the sea from the 3rd hut. Cant wait to do it again!

Varries. Sometimes the perfect day can be found on Whistler mountain. My brain and body are focussed on the task at hand. Riding as fast as I can through the roughest terrain I can ride.

Sometimes its a day of pedalling through some loamy single track with a buddy.

It is most definately never defined by a distance. Numbers put a damper on why I love mountain biking. If I wanted to analyze numbers I would get a road bike

Tight techy singletrack, good climb to earn it though. No interruptions that make me have to climb for a minute in the middle of the downhill part.

a good ride for me is one where i - along with the guys i'm riding with - have fun. maybe accomplish a couple things here and there in terms of clearing difficult sections, learning new skills or finding new trails... but most important for me is fun.

For me a good run is when I pick and hit the right lines and ride fast and smoothly, irrespective of terrain (but smooth bermy singletrack is seldom displeasing).

Any ride with good trails and good folks. A bad day riding is still a good day.

I think a good ride is anything when I don't come home pissed off, but my muscles are all sore and aching.

I also think a good ride depends on the day not the distance. I good ride for me is when I'm exhausted after it. I ride for the workout and the enjoyment of being outdoors, in the woods, on the trails have a blast. Some rides are better then other going the same distance on the same exact trail.

Acheiving something new, but any ride is a good ride whether it 10 mins around the block or 40 miles on a day trip, i love it all...

But the BEST ride for me would have to be uphills in between jumps and drops and really fast technical trails that just flow and keep going.

A good day was yesterday. Went with a buddy of mine. Showed him a route of hardball and trail. We broke him in for being in the dirt the first time ever. I was super tired, and paid a visit to the LBS get a few new parts for the bike!

I'm just getting started but I gotta say I haven't had a bad ride. Every trail I have been on has had a new challange for me.

18-24C temperature, nice sunny day with 5-10 km/h wind to keep me cool even when I stop. A very narrow single track with short ascents and decents, and some easy to intermediate technical stuff. At least 10 km long with beautiful scenery. My brain works in coordination with my eyes and my body flawlessly. No mistakes, no crashes...

This is my dream day . If only one or two of the things I mentioned above is there, I'd consider it as a good ride.

A good ride is when you feel like your just flowing with the trail. Hitting corners just right, nailing the technicals, climbing to the top and not having to recover. Doesn't matter if it's a 5 or 50 mile ride. When you finish, you're tired, but not worn out, and have a smile on your face thinking about doing all over again tomorrow.
