Any one from Montreal in here? any good XC trails around the area for beginners?

Yup, check out https://www.clubveloepic.org. They organize newbie friendly rides along with their regular rides. Recently they had some in Oka, Kingdom Trails in Vermont, Sainte-Anne-des-lacs.
