if everything is working fine, yes. However, whenever you by a bike that old, especially a downhill or one that takes abuse, you are gambling. I know many people that bought 5 year old bikes thinking that they were getting a deal and they ended up putting in so much money that they could have almost got a new bike. I would say always buy new.
However, if you are on a strict buget and ned a long travel dual suspension, this might work. Personaly, if you have to go used, I would buy something a little newer or at least be able to test ride it.
