Recenetly purchased the marz mx pro w/eta. It has one side coil and one side air. Just wondering if it was absolutely necessary to have a fork pump or can you use any old air pump with a guage? Also it came with some sort of adaptor that it says to screw onto the valve.... but it doesn't screw onto the only valve that i see.
Can somebody help me out? thanks

Yea, you need a fork pump. Fork pumps have bleed valves that allow you to adjust the pressure, something that a regular pump doesn't have. My first air shock I tried to adjust by using a hand pump and found it almost impossible to do. And, unless Marzocchi has changed recently, you'll need a special low pressure pump. Don't use the high pressure pumps because they are a pain to adjust the pressure too. Not enough resolution at the pressures the fork runs at.

Can't help you on the adapter. Don't have enough experience with the fork.
