20" Wheel Full Suspension Mountain Bike

I am looking for a 20" Wheel (not 20" frame) full suspension mountain bike for my daughter. But I can't find one. Any manufacturer makes rear suspension for such a small frame?

You're goning to have a very hard time finding such a thing, if it even exists. A better option would be to go with the standard 26" wheels and get an extra-small frame. Take a trip to your LBS with your daughter - they should be able to help get a proper fit. :)

I've seen two just recently, but they were department store brands, so I don't even remember the names. If high-quality (vs. getting her what she wants) isn't a super high priority, you might want to take your search to Wal-Mart, Costco, etc...

But they are out there.

What about a 24"

does she really need a suspension fork? most little kids dont, they just want them to bounce on like a pogo stick while they ride.

Specialized has a 24" full suspension bike marketed for kids, but its like $600. Kona has the Stinky Jr., which is also 24".

How tall is your daughter?

I was in a similar dilemma a couple months back. My son was turning 5 and I wanted to get him a good bike. The full suspension route was all junk and they weighed a ton. I ended up with a 20" FRONT suspension Specialized for him.

Trek and Gary Fisher both make front suspension 20" bikes. I almost bought the TREK, but liked the paint job on the Specialized more. Plus, one of my bikes is a Specialized and now DA BOY rides the same bike as DADDY.

The Mongoose Bolt has dual suspension and 24 inch wheels. It has a low stand-over design, so it should fit a tall nine year old, or a very tall eight year old. It sells at sporting goods chains such as Oshman's and Dick's for $149.99. Today and tomorrow, Oshman's is selling it for $79.99.

Although kids LOVE both the concept and style of dual suspension, I'd prefer to see most on a good BMX style bike. The Mongoose Bolt weighs 39 pounds. That's a lot of weight for a 60 pound kid to push up a hill.
