I was planning to use Zefal tire sealant for my next race in case of a flat. (It's the only thing I could find over here in Korea) It beats carrying all the gear for repairing and inflating a tire the old fashioned way and it should save tons of time time. I have never used it before and am unsure if it is a reliable way to finish a race. Opinions??

-------
Would it be a good idea to use it before a ride in the hopes that it will seal any puncture that might happen before the tire deflates too much?? I do not use tubeless tires.

I have a rule when racing. Never try anything new. If I haven't tried it in practice then I won't rely on it while racing.

I've had mixed results with tire sealant. I've used Fix-A-Flat (bike size) and had it work perfectly, but on another occasion, it just went all over instead of into the tire-may have been my fault, I might not have had it screwed onto the valve stem tightly? Both instances were on Schrader valve tubes. If you are running Presta valved tubes, I don't think I'd use it (comes with a Schrader fitting-at least the ones I've seen and used).
