I have a friend with a carbon epic, he's had it about 2 months. It's a good looking bike if you like carbon.

Your friend has a $7000 bike?

The only one I've seen with a carbon s-works epic so far was ned overend, I don't know how this bike would be available to consumers already unless he was sponsored or something.

He's very sponsored. In his shop are prototype epic and demo frames. He gets them and gives feedback to Specialized on what they might change. Must suck huh?

That makes two of us. For $7,000 I can have a much nicer bike than these. At that price tag I had better be getting custom geometry. I would be on an IF Tungsten Electrode.

Actually my reasoning is due to the fact that I'd crush it

Only the main-frame is carbon on; the rear triangle is still aluminum. That is a pretty bike.

Like Raiyn though, I'd likely kill the thing with my 195lbs self going through technical, rocky sections. If I were into racing though it would be a great second bike...if it wasn't $7k!
