Trek 4900 frame size for 6'2"
Hi Guys
I used to have a road bike, but am now interested in a mountain bike, my problem is the frame size.
I'm 6'2" and am interested in buying a Trek 4900 with discs, its currently on special for 30% less, the only problem is the biggest size they have on special is 19.5". What is the right frame size for me? Is it worth spending the money on, or should I rather get a 21.5", and spend the extra 30%?
Thanks

I'm 6' and mines a medium which is 18" ~ 19.5" so I think a 19.5" should be fine for you. More importantly however is how it feels when you test ride it, you did test ride it did'nt you? What size is on the frame is less important than whether or not the bike feels right to ride.

Still waiting for the bike to arrive (at the store), just wanted to get a general idea for what frame size I should be looking at.

I'm guessing you'll probably want the 21.5", but you'll have to sit on them to figure it out. I'm 5'11" and ride a 19.5. My friend is 6'2" and rides a 21.
Yes having the right size is worth spending the money on. The most important dimension (in my opinion) is the effective top tube length. If you feel like you're stretching a bit to reach the bars, you'll have trouble shifting your weight around for intense riding. If you feel like the bars are too close, you'll have trouble pedaling in a good posture for going up hills. Of course, it's adjustable a little bit by swapping the stem or moving the seat on it rails.
