Chili Challenge 2005!
Dear MTB fans,
On 5 september 2005 we, Victor and Frans from the Netherlands, are going to realize our biggest MTB dream. We have set ourselves the challenge of mountainbiking from the north of Chili to it's most southern point, an over 6000 kilometre trip that will lead us over 4 km high plains, through the world's driest desert, the Camino Austral, and the fierce winds of Patagonia. We'll give ourselves just 100 days to cover the distance. With this Chili Challenge we'll also be raising for a Chilean charity foundation, called Maria Ayuda, that promote child conditions, for those that have been victim of physical abuse, sexual abuse, and abandonement as well as there families in Santiago de Chile. You can find al information on our project on our website www.chilichallenge.nl.
It's a first time cycling tour in Chile for us and we welcome all suggestions you can offer. Though we more or less know what route we'll be taking we would love to know you opinion on Chile's hotspots and hazards. From the 5th of September you'll find our travel stories on the website. We hope lots of you will visit and make our project to a succes.
Looking forward to your replies!
