Goddamn old people who try to make lefthand turns from right lanes  .

I got back from the Doc. today and he said no heavy lifting or exercise so I can't bike for a bit. This sucks

santiago 08-15-05 07:54 PM

That sucks at least you're okay. Hope you can replace your car with another nice SAAB.

Nearly had an elderly couple do that to me while I was still in NH, only that it was right turn from left lane. Sorry to hear.

Thanks santiago and KonaRider24

It will be another SAAB for sure. Trouble is the 9000 is becoming a hard car to find in good shape so replacing it will be a feat (mine was in almost tip-top shape mechanically and esthetically). Also, I don't buy automatics which makes finding a good 9000 even harder.

The fogies are really starting to get on my nerves. I think that everyone should have to re-test to keep their lisence as soon as they hit the age of 60.

YoungOneNC15 08-15-05 08:00 PM

Damn man that sucks. Hope you are able to find another car in good condition, looks like that one was in good condition. Get well soon.

Dannihilator 08-15-05 08:02 PM

Nevermind, looks like windshield pillar is bent.

Unfortunately, that will never happen because of AARP. I do agree with you though.

norcodirtjumper 08-15-05 08:04 PM

That sucks. Does anybody else notice that elderly people have to have the biggest cars on the road?

No interest in the 900? I love the look of the older 900s. My dad actually had a pretty nice one from the ealry 80s for a little while.

Thanks man.

I wish that it could be since I'd fix it in a heartbeat. The frame is gone though so as much as it pains me to say it, it's done for.

It's not the size that worries me, it's decisions like the one he made in full traffic. And in his crazy little mind "he did nothing wrong". The Police Officer saw it my way (and the way of about seven witnesses) and issued the dumb **** a ticket. The sod even had the balls to tell me to lear to use my mirrors.

I am a big fan of the C900s like the one your dad had. Sadly, those are becoming hard to find in good shape as well. I don't much care for the NG900 since they seem flimsy.

My theory is extra place to store stuff.

It is a big reason why I hate special interest groups, IMHO they really hurt America (different topic for a different day). They don't care about the danger some geezer poses who doesn't have the sence to surrender his/her license. Old people behind the wheel can be as bad or worse that drunks or kids with big loud exhaust pipes, yet they pay the lowest insurance rates.

The doc said no "Heavy" lifting or exercise. Why not just out and putt around so you can get some riding in on your new bike? What injuries did you sustain?

I would look at like this, at least you were not on your bike ;) . Hope you heal fast.

I left work and had a doctor in the ER check my neck and shoulders since they killed and I couldn't turn my head.

On a bittersweet note; I got my new bike today and it is really beyond my expectations. I am thrilled to ride this thing, too bad I can't yet.

Bummer to hear about the wreck.

good luck with getting the car replaced.

Better luck not going insane being on the D.L. with a new bike.

valbowski1980 08-16-05 07:15 PM

It does suck to stare at it in the garage. I still have to buy some MTB shoes and SPD cleats before I can have at it.

I wouldn't recommend that you use GOD in a curse word.... Just my suggestion....

On the otherhand, if your on your way to Hell, then what the Hell, huh?

You believe what you want and I'll believe what I want, let's leave it there. I don't want not turn this into a theological debate since it's not that kind of a forum.

glad your ok!

I never listen to doctors after getting hurt. Just take it easy and you'll be ok. You go to the chiro to get adjusted yet? Might help.

I usually don't either, especially when it comes to taking pills. With something like this though I think that I'd better since I don't want to risk permanent damage. Doctor first, chiro later if the doctor says to.
