Each company makes something for your need. It's finding the fork that best fits your preferences that is in your comfort zone financially. If you broke the fork on your bike and need a fork and you are low on money, your best option would be with a company like RST or you could buy a used fork for cheap. If you want a new fork and you are low on money, save up money for a good fork. If you have alot of money and need/want a new fork, well, the sky is the limit. Just remember to get a fork that will fit your riding style and the type of riding you do. For example, you don't want a Marzocchi Super Monster on a Trek Fuel, just like you don't want a Rock Shox Duke on a Santa Cruz V-10. Longer travel forks will put a stress on the headtube of a bike that was designed for xc. RS duke on a V-10 just looks stupid, and defeats the purpose of a downhill/freeride bike. For those of you in between DH/FR and cross country, about any SC fork will do that has 4-6" of travel. It's just finding a fork that is in your price range. If you find a company you're impressed with stick with them, buyer loyalty is a must. Depending on the fork, there will be lock out.

Agressive/heavier riders will be best off with a coil fork, lighter/xc riders will be best off with an air shock. 200lbs riders on air forks have a greater chance to blow a seal. There is though a movement coming around of Air Sprung forks showing up that can take the abuse abuse of lightweight to lighter moderate freeriding and some downhill, but are actually designed for more aggressive trail riding than freeriding. They can take it, but a coil sprung fork is more ideal for Freeriding and DH*.

To find a geeral price of this product. Ask your local lbs person or check https://mtbr.com.

Yay! post works! Not sure what to post though.

I saw an '04 rock shox psylo at nashbar for 250 bucks, that seems pretty dang cheap. If only I had money... probably go for the 250GB hard drive for 100 from my boss instead.

Since it'll die otherwise, let's revive it by posting pointless stuff (until kona gets upset and bans us and locks the thread).

I guess I find out my grades for the past semester tomorrow. I'll probably have a B or so in C++ Data Structures, and an A in freshman comp *IF* my essays passed the portfolio reading. If it's nice weather, I go in and fasten some bolts down on my boss's roof, then go to scouts... Maybe I'll get it some half-life 2 time, maybe even finish the game, but I doubt that.

Sweet. Did you get the spicey chicken? Those things rock. Also the frosties are good... the fries smell good, but they're usually crap.

Hmm... I need a new avatar. That pink floyd one I made was alright, this current circle one is kinda crappy since whoever made it designed it to be used on a black page instead of a white one...

Maybe something about AC/DC or a pic of me. I'll decide

I wonder if anyone I know uses myspace.. probably not.

I've never seen family guy, maybe I should get an episode or 2.

EDIT:
Yeah, I think kona will be rather unhappy with us when he gets on. Kona, please don't lock this, we need a thread to post stuff that isn't worth making a new topic, and they won't let us have an official irc channel... or something like that

Statement...I will be getting a new bike real soon and I am getting the Fox Talas fork on the front and the Fox RP3 on the back(because it would be really hard to do it the other way around ). I have read about aftermarket tuners that can make the fork and shock better buy tuning them exactly to how you ride, your weight...ect.
Question...By doing this will the performance gain be to the point where I will notice or am I just throwing money out the window?
