Bike Help???

Ok, I'm looking at getting a new mountain, I tore up my old one cause I was to rough on it. These are the bikes I'm looking at.

Specialized P.2
Trek Bruiser2
Giant STP 1

I'm leaning toward the Trek or Giant.

Which bike do you think is best for all these purposes? Stairs, Dirt Jumps, just riding in all the fun places where rough terain is. I've heard Giant makes the best mtn bikes right now, but I havent talked to my unle in a few months.

Just give me your oppenion.

Thanks.

One more question, what size rider is the Bruiser 2 made for? My current mtn bike has a 19" frame, and the Bruiser 2 has a 16.5" frame, and that is the larger size. Is it made smaller because its more freestyle trick purposed. So baisically is it a hybrid between a bmx and mtn bike?

goin off stairs and curbs, downhill!... haha, on time i went down a sidewalk trail really fast and and i was goin on the grass next to it instead for more fun, and wanted to get back on the sidewalk, so when i switched the tire didnt go up the sidewalk side and it skidded really bad so i flew off and the bike did like 4 complete rolls down on cement to the grass lol and it was still good as new! The bikes really heavy compared to the 2nd one so thats better for you...

yea, I want a light bike, well light is nice, but durability is #1. I still think I want a hardtail, still not 100% sure. I plan on taking it down lots and lots and lots of stairs. I like the bump felling of the hardtail when you go down stairs, but I've never taken a full suspesion bike down a stair case. But cost is somewhat of an issue as well. Taking everything into account I think that the bruiser 2 is my best bet.
Thanks guys, for your help.

I've got a Bruiser 1. I can't afford a Bruiser 2, let alone a 3. It's a good bike. I'm going to upgrade some of the things like disks and some other things as soon as I get the money. I do everything you mentioned above and some trail riding. I get passed by a lot of faster/lighter bikes on cement but at least I know I could climb a wet grassy hill without trouble and go down muddy side with ease.

i have a giant ranier and it is sweet. i cant find the specs on how muc hit wieghs but iwieghed it at home and it was 24lbs. not bad for $700 it comes with the clipless pedals. its a hard tail. i do everything you said you do i take it off drops up to about 4 1/2 feet was the highest 1 so far. i go dow nthe stair at the elemtry school like 20 stairs. i do the jumps at the woods near my house with it. and take it in the woods so i do just about everything with it. also im going to my first race with it this weekend! i cant wait

I am also interested in the Bruiser 1. I'm planning to do stairs and stuff like that, but i'm also planning to ride it around town. Is these bike is comfortable for long ride sitten in the saddle (like 2 or 3 hours)?.

Thanks!

Hey guys, would a Trek 6700 handle stairs and jumps ok? I like it alot, and I actually thought about it, I will be riding with friends, and we may be doing some racing and stuff across the college campus that my friend lives on. I heard bruisers arent the fastest bikes around. Would the 6700 hold up well, as long as I maintain it well. I do know how to maintain bikes well, my dad knows a lot more than me, and my unle owns a bike shop.

I test rode a 6700 and OMG i shot off like a rocket compared to my other 4300! lol if I got it and were you, I'd switch out the fork with somethin more than 100mm of suspension if youre goin down stairs.

The 6700 is not a freeride bike by any means.

I'd get the STP1. Second choice, the P.2.
