Right at the shock mount on the front triangle? Oh yeah! They've had a ton of problems with that design!

I had a '97 or '98 Z-1, Polished aluminum frame with yellow decals and a Judy SL fork, full XT components. I loved that bike! I cracked my weld and compressed the downtube. Scary thing is, I don't remember how it happened. I think it happened after a 2' drop, but I cannot specifically say when. I was showing off my frame to a neighbor and noticed it! I sent it in for warrenty and they sent me a new frame, which I almost immediately sold and bought a Specialized FSR.

The good thing is that Gary Fisher will warrenty out the frame and give you a new one. The problem is, that they'll only replace what's damaged. Since they don't have any more of those frames, they'll probably upgrade you to a SUGAR + frame. You'll probably have to pay for a new shock, as you exisiting one probably won't fit.

It all depends
Sorry Dude!
