questions and stories (hope brakes whistler and mx helmets)

ok first of all i just bought the hope mono6ti brake (front only $350CDN)and so far its awesome i havent even broken them in yet and i love them. BUT when i lean my bike on its side a bit when im rolling along the spokes rub on the calipur. do i just need to get the wheel retentioned or could something be bent(refer to the whistler story)

ok now my story of whistler. i went up there for tuse wed, we took the #99 from kamloops, i have to say that was one of the most beautiful drives ive ever went on, the lakes where amazingly clear and the size of all the mountains and canyons just left me in awe and feeling very small. the highway sucked really bad though.

so we get into whister i have one of the best days of biking ive ever had i rode aline, dirt merchant, schlayer, a few other blacks and all the blues. my plan was to go up the garbonzo lift the next day but that all came to a crashing halt on the last run of the day.

i had just finished riding dirt merchant(i think), and then when down into the boneyard. now for thoes of you who have been there mabey youll know what im talking about. about half way down theres a big hip jump, up before the wallride i think, im prety sure its the one it the pic i attached but its hard to tell. anyway i hit that WAY to fast overshot it prety much landed it to flat i guess, got a concussion and like dirt rash on both my arms prety bad.

i dont remember alot of it, i just remember getting up and looking for my bike and it was like 50 feet down the hill then going to the bike shop asking if the could fix my bike, i actualy bent the rim bad enought that it rubbed on both sides of the lowers, they were able to fix it though. and then he gave me a peice of paper telling me where my bike was and then i remember talking to some guy then in a truck then somehow i was in the hospital and a nurse was scrubbing rocks out of my shoulder, which hurt alot by the way. then i was in the hotel with the worst headache ever.

it ended up my bike fared prety good, it was just the rim that was bent but i noticed today i actually cracked my headset. hopefully i didnt ovalize my headtube. my helmet actually got the worst of it, i cracked it in like 3 places. its away for crash replacement now, but im thinking about selling it and getting a mx helmet, mabey a fox one. but in all it was a awesome trip im already making plans to go back next year

ok to sum it all up:
-should i get my wheel retentioned or is it something bigger i need to worry about for the brake
-did anybody see my crash, my dad said he talked to someone and they said they saw it and saw someone who couldve takin pics.
-and last is a mx helmet worth it, money isnt a big concern, i was just wondering who used them and if its worth heat for the added protection.

thx for listening to my ramblings and for any replies

Wow.. glad you're ok.

I'd probly get a MX helmet if I were you.. at least for shorter runs that you're a little more likely to crash on.. lol
