wow, 2 inches? thats almost all of the travel available on an 80mm fork. Theres no way they were set up correctly.
MXC's have both rebound and compression adjust, just not external. But realy, who needs it anyway once its dialed in? Just carry an allen wrench in your bag until it is
The seals take a few rides to settle in, and until they do the fork makes a weird squishing noise, but its nothing that effects performance. There should be a bit of sag in any fork, theres just less in stiff xc forks... sag helps keep the front wheel on the ground as you move over objects at speed, improving handling. I've been able to dial mine in after the initial break-in just fine and I weigh upwards of 220lbs. There is a bit of bobing when you climb out of the saddle, but I doubt theres a 100mm+ fork out there without lockout (and especially at this price range) that wont bob a bit. I say go find a bike at your lbs that come equipped with one and take it for a ride. Have the shop set up the compression/rebound for you before you check it out.
