anyone know of any low profile (thin) helmets

I just picked up my new bike and need to get a helmet, haven't worn one for over 7 years or so now. So naturally I think a helmet looks silly on me and my small head. I picked up a real nice Specialized tellerude (sp?) and its great but it seems thick and i think i look dumb wearing it. So basically I am jsut curious if anyone knows about some thinner than the average helmet at around the 40-60 dollar range that would be ok to mountain bike in.

For more money the Bell Ghisallo is a really thin helmet... I have a small head too and look rediculous in most other helmets. This one will set you back around $100 or so, but if thin is what you want that is pretty much what you will end up spending, more than likely.

Louis Gearneau ORO T-bone. its light, thin and unbelievably strong for its size. I have a regular head and it disapears on it. Performance, Nashbar and other places carry it for between $40- $60. I must say that fit is more important than looks. helmet head is much less funy looking than a 1/2 shaved head with 100 stitches on the shaved side

Helmets look silly on everyone. Once you except the fact you are going to look like a giant mobile phallic symbol the sooner you won't care

get a full face and no one can tell...but if not, then yes regular helmets look pretty silly on everyone, but when there are forty people all looking just as silly it's not as funny as you would expect it to be.

On my daily commute, I always see this guy with a black full face, black shirt, shorts, shoes, and backpack, on what I think is a black Demo, not sure, but it's a black DH bike for sure though. Looks pretty cool.

You can't see yourself when you're riding so who cares. And when people see you riding, most couldn't care less what the helmet looks like on you. You have a good helmet...keep it, use it, and know that your head is protected!

hmmm... maybe it's just me but why care so much if you look silly in a helmet, now helmets look silly, ok; but, just enjoy the ride and the experience you get out of riding instead of having to be Joe Cool Helmet Head, but then again thats just me.
