Put on the SRAM RD and Shifters Tonight

So I have had the X.9 rear derailleur and shifters for a week or so now but I just got around to putting them on and tuning them up this evening. Went out for a ride and they are great! I was running Deore shifters and LX rear derailleur before...the SRAM definitely feels a lot better. Not that the Deore stuff was bad though....I just needed shifters/derailleur for the Major Jake frame (so the Deore/LX parts just went on it) and it was a good excuse to upgrade the Rockhopper. I also finally put on the Easton EC70 bar and this week, I should be getting the new crankset and Avid Single Digit SLs so the Rockhopper is all good to go.

Glad you like them. I've never really liked the look of SRAM derailleurs though, no offense.

How do you like those pedals, i was thinking of gettibg them, but went w/ the 520's instead.

The pedals are okay...as long as it is dry, they are great but they suck in the mud. I always wear my MTB shoes so the platforms are useless on that bike. They are going to go on the Major Jake so I don't have to wear clipless shoes when winter riding. I have a spare pair of 505s I will put on the Rockhopper but I think I may try some eggbeaters next year.

I had one issue with the shifters on the ride tonight...actually just the rear derailleur shifter. When on the short, steep climb just after crossing the creek, there were a couple of times when my thumb would bump the shifter and I'd inadvertently shift up. It was annoying the first couple of times but then I just moved the shifters in a bit and it was all good. Anyone else have the same problem when going from Shimano to SRAM, or am I just weird?
