Well I entered two race catagories for this weekend. Don't know how I'll fair but I did it any ways. It is a 2 run format and with my practice runs I am usually beet at the end of the day. This weekend I will get four runs along with practice. All on on day. Last time I entered two races in a weekend was in 1991 when I did xc on Sat. and dh on Sun. I am just hoping my fore arms last. there is a huge table top (10' high, 20' long) at the end of the course that I like to go big over but if my arms are shot who knows (bang, crack, snap), well it's all good as long as I have fun. Is that not the bottom line (yeh right ).

But seriously I compete with myself. If I continue to better my riding I am confident enough to know I will eventually start getting better than others. Of course th adrenaline helps a bunch too

I was checking out my competitions times and from what I can tell there is only one guy who will give me a run for my money in one of the classes. The other class I still have to better my skills to get on the podium but I am still in the top 10 which is not bad considering there are 45 riders in that class.

Thats good. Congrats on the runs. Competition always makes things more interesting. I am not a dhiller but I do intend to enter the Test of Metal. My goal is simply to finish.

You will have to keep us up to date about your finishes.

The funy thing about points, I may not end up on the podium once but I will be in the top 5 at the end on the season.

Well Mealstrom, I fared alright this weekend. Placed second in the Clydsdale and took ninth in the 30 to 34 class. The course was realy fun, lots of drops four sets of doubles with one that 75% of the racers were going over the bars and lots of soft stuff. I would have done better except for the fact that I crashed on both of my second runs. Thought I could go a little faster through two sections, boy was I ever wrong. As they say though, no pain no gain

Besides flipping usually hurts the bike more than the person. But congrats on the placing. That is a tougher class than people think. A lot of experienced riders in there. (30-34)

Softstuff is tough to run on. Do you have anymore races this year? I guess in California you could race all year? Crashed on your second runs? Do you regret enterring the double classes.

No regrets. It was a blast. There is one more Amature Cup race then the Gotta Thunder DH and after that the... brain fart... for got the name but it is a major race. During the winter there is a club that uses the local mtns and they race no matter what the weather is. Their races are held on a hill that is mostly granite so it can get very interesting when it gets wet.

We gte some locals up here riding all year. But that is only for the strongest riders. It isn't fun riding in a snow storm. Unless you enjoy that type of thing ...

Once again congrats and best of luck in the other races. I myself would be a clydsdale but sometimes I wish there was a heavier class still.
