Help please

I currently ride a trek 930 mountain bike. I have a few major problems with it. Most people tell me its for cross country trail riding, but I take it on really bumpy downhill rides. My majoe problem with it is the fact that the handle bars are about 4 inches below my seat, thus causing my back to start hurting.

I decided to buy a new bike and was hoping for some input.

These are the two hardtails Im looking at.

The type of riding I do is, gravely bumpy off road trails... really bumpy and full of trenches.. My current bike isn't cutting it..

I was thinking about getting a dual suspension bike, but those are alot more expensive, so I was wondering what the pros and cons of getting one of those are. Any help?

If I was you I would go with your second choice but you might want to take a look at some other bikes...for example the Norco Wolverine it's pretty cheap (around $600) I ride a Wolverine and I'm quite happy with it...you might also want to look into a specialized rockhopper comp my friend owns one and it's also a good bike im not quite sure how much he spent on it but it wasn't that much for a good bike. Hope this helps.

Well I easily have enough money to buy a dual suspension up to about 1500. I'm just not sure If I want a hardtail or dual suspension bike.

Could you link me too the two bikes you mentioned? the rockhopper and wolverine?
