I used to ride an RTS Team back in the day. The RTS (Rocker Tuned Suspension) design locks out under pedaling, which makes it a great climber, but obviously it's of little or no help when pedaling over rough stuff. The shock was Noleen (not sure if the company is still around) and there's no other shock that will work. Rear travel is about 2.5" and the frame was designed for a fork with similar travel. Geometry is classic early 90's NORBA race geometry (steep and twitchy). IIRC, the RTS2 has an aluminum front triangle and a steel rear subframe, whereas the Team was all 6061-T6 aluminum.

thanks for the detailed post. yeah, the price is fantastic and bike is in pretty good condition but as you stated, the unavailability of the noleen shock is a serious factor against purchasing this bike. i test rode it, and the frame is pretty responsive and much better than my soft tail KHS setup.

I see the bikes on ebay quite a bit and I have grown to love the way they look. Very neat bike but you will have a hard time finding parts for it.

But for $150, it'll be a great ride for a time, maybe a long time.
