Cracked Fork!!!!
I went out on my bike for a ride just the other day and went to the trail that me and my friends work on. I went up there for the first time on my new bike. Everything was goin good. I went to hit the little 1 foot drop there and my fork cracked. It cracked on the peice right above the front tire that goes across the top of the front tire. I think its called the crown but iam not sure, can anyone tell me what its called. Also, will this be covered by the warranty. The bike is one week old. Its a Norco Havoc 2005. The forks were SR Suntour T Triple clamp with 130mm of travel. Ive done this drop a million times on my old bike. Its not like its out of my range of abliity. I can see if I done something for the first time like a 20 foot drop or something, than I whould not be asking this. Can anyone help me here!!! Thanks in advance!!!!

Sorry to break it to you but that fork is a PIECE and should be replaced ASAP I would get a low end Z1 or drop off by marzocchi..... get the fork you broke replaced, take it to your shop and they should start the 'paper work' to get the warranty on the fork, when you get the new fork (new SR crapola) SELL IT, the less time in your hands the better, then use that money to get a used drop off or z1..... thats what I would do....
and yes that is the crown..... good luck

It should be under warranty. Norco is pretty good at giving you credit for the broken one towards a better fork, if you choose.

I think he actually mean the ARCH not the crown.
Also, warranty should cover it, a 1 foot drop is nothing for a fork like that. Didn't seem like you said you crashed.

No I never crashed. I just drop off the drop made the very sharp turn right after it and it made a very loud cracking noise. I stopped and looked down and the arch was snapped right in two.
