which is the best FS pedaling frame(no bob)
hi.. i wounder.. what is the best frame with 4 to 5 inches of rear travel with the most minimal of bobing?

Likely anything with Horst link. Ellsworth Truth, some of the Norco bikes, Turner 5 Spot, any of the Specialized FSR bikes, Blur and VP Free. Of course, even the crappiest pedalling suspension design can be saved through the use of a pro-pedal type shock. Also, even the best suspension design will ride like crap if the rear shock is setup incorrectly.

That would be my short list;

Although many more manufacturers make 5'' travel bikes now that pedal beautifully. The complete list would be extensive.

My list would be (of course only when set up correctly):
If you want 4".
Ellsworth Truth (I'm a little biased here though)
Turner Flux (licenses it's suspension design from Ellsworth)
Giant NRS (3 1/2" or 4", not sure)
KHS XC904r (only 3.5") (licenses it's suspension design from Specialized)
Specialized Stumpjumper FSR 100
Santa Cruz Blur XC
Santa Cruz Superlight (old technology but still one heck of a bike)
If you want 5".
Ellsworth ID
Turner Five Spot (licenses it's suspension design from Ellsworth)
Specialized Stumpjumper FSR 120
There are a lot of other great bikes out there, these are just my favorites. On a side note, I still like what Tony Ellsworth says about lock outs on rear shocks, a bike that is designed properly doesn't need a lockout.

i always thought fsr was on the top with pedaling?
i guess i was wrong. just for future reference what kind of sus. are on those otehr bikes?

The Ellsworth and Turner have ICT (Instant Center Tracking). It is a four bar design. They are basicly the same thing as the Specilized but somehow have found a loop hole that allows them to get around the Specialized patent.

I have a '99 K2 Flyin' Monkey that doesn't bob at all.... It's a single-pivot design. The frame wouldn't accept ISO disc brake mounts, so I bought a new bike....
